Disclosed is a method for producing a dispersion in which a highly toxic organic solvent is not used as a dispersion medium and a substance that is hardly soluble in the dispersion medium is dispersed with a nano-order particle size. A method for producing a dispersion in which a material that is hardly soluble in a dispersion medium is dispersed with a nano-order particle size as a medium in a dispersion medium containing a surfactant, the dispersion being poorly soluble in a good solvent. A solution in which a substance and a surfactant are dissolved is prepared, and the solution is rapidly cooled to a temperature at which the hardly soluble substance precipitates in the solution at a temperature-decreasing rate of 100 to 4000 ° C./second.
