A particulate material containing coarse mesoporous hollow nanoparticles. Coarse mesoporous hollow nanoparticles may include a mesoporous shell, the outer surface of the hollow nanoparticles having protrusions above the hollow nanoparticles, and the protrusions have a size that is smaller than the size of the particles. Particulate materials may be used to deliver active agents such as pesticides and pesticides. The active agent can penetrate into the hollow core of the particles and can be protected from degradation by sunlight. The rough surface of the particles keeps the particles on plant leaves or animal hair. A method for forming the particles is also described. Carbon particles and methods for forming carbon particles are also described. [Selection] Figure 1 |
