abstract | An in vivo sensor is desired that has a surface treatment that is resistant to nonspecific protein adsorption and cell adhesion and / or reduces the inflammatory response of the host. An apparatus for measuring the concentration of an analyte, for example, glucose in a host is provided. The apparatus can include a continuous analyte sensor 34 configured to generate a signal related to the concentration of the analyte, a reference electrode 30, and a sensitive membrane 32 positioned on the working electrode 38. The sensitive membrane includes a diffusion resistance domain configured to control the flow of the analyte through the sensitive membrane. The diffusion resistant domain includes one or more zwitterionic compounds and a base polymer that includes both hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions. [Selection] Figure 1 |
