The present invention relates to a component (10) having a coating (13) containing chromium, nitrogen and carbon. In the present invention, the coating (13) has a sliding layer (16) with a ceramic phase (17) and a carbon phase (18), and the ceramic phase (17) is Cr x (C 1-y N y ) (provided that 0.8 ≦ x ≦ 1.2 and y> 0.7), wherein the crystalline ceramic phase (17) and the carbon phase (18) are alternately formed.
