abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide a film excellent in wet heat resistance and dimensional stability, excellent in mechanical strength, and suitable as a retardation film to be bonded to a polarizing plate used in a liquid crystal display. A film comprising a polycarbonate resin as a main component and having the following characteristics (1) to (3). A polarizing plate produced using this film. (1) Three-dimensional birefringence (Nx, Ny, Nz) is Nx>Ny> Nz. (2) The in-plane retardation (Re) is 30 nm ≦ Re ≦ 100 nm. (3) Thickness phase difference (Rth) is 100 nm ≦ Rth ≦ 180 nm.
