abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel trans-stilbene which is expected to be a retardation film having excellent optical characteristics such as a large refractive index in the thickness direction of the film and an out-of-plane retardation, and a thin film having a high out-of-plane retardation.
