Improved adhesion between an extruded compliant layer and an image receiving layer. An image receiving element is a multi-layer comprising, on a support, in order, an extruded compliant layer, an aqueous coated subbing layer, and an image receiving layer, which may be extruded. It is a complex. The extruded compliant layer is not voided and contains 10-40% by weight of at least one elastomeric polymer. The image receiving element can be disposed on a support to form a thermal dye receiving element, an electrophotographic image receiving element or a thermal wax receiving element. The aqueous coated subbing layer provides excellent adhesion between the extruded compliant layer and the image receiving layer. [Selection figure] None |
