The present invention describes methods and processes for producing proteins by animal cell or mammalian cell culture. In certain aspects, the method comprises cell growth in a growth factor / protein / peptide free medium. In another aspect, the method includes adding a growth factor during the manufacturing phase. The method can maintain high viability of cultured cells, resulting in increased final titer of protein product and high quality protein product. |
