The claimed invention relates to a current collector product for one or more galvanic battery cells. Currently, the metal considered as a current collector for the negative electrode is copper. Some of the disadvantages of copper are that it is a rare, heavy and expensive element. To alleviate at least some of the problems of prior art battery cells, at least a portion of the current collector electrode support portion is comprised of pure iron or an iron alloy with less than 10 weight percent impurities or alloy components. The claimed invention also relates to a method for producing galvanic lithium or sodium battery cells and current collector products. |
