titleOfInvention Process for preparing aramid copolymer yarns having low residual sulfur
abstract The present invention comprises (a) producing a plurality of dope filaments by spinning a polymer sulfuric acid solution through a porous spinneret, wherein the polymer comprises an imidazole group, and (b) a plurality of dopes. A yarn comprising the steps of coagulating the filament into an as-spun yarn, (c) contacting the yarn with an aqueous base having a pKa of 11 or less, and (d) rinsing the yarn. Relates to the method of producing the strip.
