titleOfInvention | Method for inducing differentiation of embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells |
abstract | Provided is a method for easily inducing differentiation of a large amount of embryonic stem cells or induced pluripotent stem cells using a substrate surface having a non-cell-adhesive region around a cell-adherent region. A substrate surface having a non-cell-adhesive region around a cell-adhesive region is used, (1) the cells are attached to the cell-adhesive region on the substrate surface under a differentiation-inducing medium, 2) Thereafter, the cells are grown until they become confluent on the cell adhesion surface, and (3) the culture is further continued, and the cells are three-dimensionally separated from the boundary with the cell non-adhesion region around the cell adhesion region. And (4) embryonic stem cells that combine a plurality of layered portions finally formed in the cell adhesion region to produce a thick cell aggregate in the entire cell adhesion region Alternatively, a method for inducing differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells.
