abstract | Provided is a method for producing metal thallium, which efficiently produces high-purity metal thallium from thallium halide containing impurities. SOLUTION: Thallium halide containing impurities is reduced by carbonation, acid leaching or alkali leaching, and this is melted by adding an alkali metal salt and a reducing source, and the resulting crude thallium is highly purified by electrolytic purification.
