abstract The present invention provides a bisphenol-based resin capable of obtaining excellent cycle characteristics in a lead-acid battery. SOLUTION: It is obtained by reacting (a) a bisphenol compound, (b) a compound represented by the following general formula (I), and (c) at least one selected from the group consisting of formaldehyde and a formaldehyde derivative.
