abstract Provided is a technique for reducing the operation time of an alternator within a range where a charge / discharge balance is not excessively discharged. A second power storage device is connected in parallel to the first power storage device. The second power storage device 112 is constituted by at least one nickel metal hydride battery 152 and two nickel hydride batteries 152 other than lead batteries connected in parallel. The first power storage device 110 and the second power storage device 112 store the power generated by the alternator 120 mounted on the vehicle and supply power to a load in the vehicle. In first power storage device 110 and second power storage device 112, charging from alternator 120 is stopped when the speed of the vehicle becomes lower than a threshold value.
