abstract |
(57) [Problem] To accurately detect the remaining capacity of a vehicle-mounted lead-acid battery charged by a generator even after the vehicle stops, and to perform idling stop processing of the vehicle using the remaining capacity. SOLUTION: The relation between the discharge current and the terminal voltage is previously determined for each discharge capacity of a reference storage battery (step 1). A). The discharge current and terminal voltage of the lead-acid battery 3 mounted on the vehicle are measured (step 2A). After the idling stop, the convergence voltage is calculated using the measured temporal change ΔV of the terminal voltage of the lead storage battery 3 and the difference voltage δV between the previous time and the present time (step 4A). The remaining capacity of the lead storage battery 3 is estimated using the calculated convergence voltage (step 5A). The remaining capacity of the lead storage battery 3 estimated in this way is compared with a plurality of battery capacity levels to determine whether idling stop is possible. |
