In a fiber-based heat insulating material in which xerogel is supported on a fiber material, desorption of xerogel fine particles from the sheet surface and arbitrarily cut end faces is suppressed, and the heat insulating performance is maintained semipermanently. A fiber sheet comprising a silica xerogel or silica airgel containing nanofibers having a fiber diameter of 50 nm or less, and a fiber sheet filled with silica xerogel or silica airgel is used. Furthermore, the silica xerogel or the silica aerogel uses a fiber sheet that is manufactured using atmospheric drying or supercritical drying. [Selection figure] None |
