titleOfInvention Insoluble branched polyphosphonates and related methods
abstract The present invention provides a polyphosphonate having a high molecular weight and high hardness. In a reaction vessel, a mixture of one or more phosphonic acid diallyl esters, one or more bisphenols, one or more polyphenols functioning as a branching agent and an alkali catalyst is removed under vacuum and the phenol is removed from the vessel. Heating to a temperature at which distillation begins and continuing heating until phenol release ceases, and heating the reaction mixture to a temperature at which at least phenol release resumes and stops, and chlorination after 8 hours of soaking A branched insoluble polyphosphonate obtained by a production method comprising a second heating step in which a partially or completely insoluble material is produced in methylene or tetrahydrofuran.
