abstract A semiconductor device and a method for manufacturing the semiconductor device are provided that alleviate a protruding phenomenon caused by thermal stress of crystal grains forming a through electrode to prevent connection failure or crack of a semiconductor package. A substrate including a first surface and a second surface facing the first surface and a through electrode in a via hole penetrating the substrate are provided. An integrated circuit provided on the first surface adjacent to the through electrode is provided. The through electrode includes a metal layer that fills a part of the via hole and an alloy layer that fills the remaining part of the via hole. The alloy layer includes a metal element contained in the metal layer and a metal element different from the metal element contained in the metal layer. [Selection] Figure 1
