The present invention relates to the field of catalysts, and more particularly to ruthenium carbonate complexes of the formula [Ru (diene) (CO 3 )] or [Ru (diene) (CO 3 ) 2 ] M n , where M is an alkali A metal (n is 2) cation or an alkaline earth metal (n is 1) cation. The present invention also relates to the use of the ruthenium carbonate complex as a precursor for many Ru carboxylate complexes. The specific ruthenium complexes have many important advantages over similar prior art known precursors. |
