As used herein, when a T cell contacts an antigen presenting cell (APC) that has previously been contacted with an anti-ILT5 antibody or ILT5 binding fragment, an anti-ILT5 antibody is used to induce an immunostimulatory effect in such T cell. Disclosed are methods using ILT5 antibodies and ILT5 binding fragments thereof. Similarly, as used herein, an APC that is simultaneously contacted with an anti-ILT5 antibody or ILT5 binding fragment is contacted with a T cell at the same time or has been previously contacted within such T cell. Disclosed are methods that use anti-ILT5 antibodies and ILT5-binding fragments thereof to inhibit responses (eg, proliferative responses). Similarly, disclosed herein are methods of using anti-ILT5 antibodies and ILT5-binding fragments thereof for treating various diseases and for use as immunostimulatory adjuvants. |
