ZSM-5, its preparation and use for dealkylation of ethylbenzene |
abstract |
A novel ZSM with an average silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) at the edge higher than the center of each crystallite as measured from the narrow slit line scan profile obtained by SEM / EDX or TEM / EDX elemental analysis -5 is provided. Such ZSM-5 crystals are obtained by a production method using L-tartaric acid. This new structure of ZSM-5 is particularly useful in the dealkylation of ethylbenzene when combined with silica as a binder and one or more hydrogenation metals selected from platinum, tin, lead, silver, copper and nickel. The loss of weight is significantly reduced. Another advantage is obtained when used in combination with small crystal size ZSM-5. [Selection] Figure 1 |
