There is a limit to the size of biological particles that can be analyzed using currently available techniques. [Solution] Disclosed is a method for using focused light scattering techniques for optical detection of biological particles suspended in a fluid medium. Optical detection makes it possible to characterize the size and / or distribution of particles in a given sample. This allows identification of biological particles, measurement of their relative particle density, detection of particle ejection and confirmation of particle aggregation. This method is also useful in screening and optimization of drug candidates, in evaluating the potency and dosage levels of such drugs, and in personalized medical applications. [Selection] Figure 1 |
