abstract |
The present invention provides a polarizing element in which adhesion between a polyvinyl alcohol film polarizer and a liquid crystal layer is enhanced, and the polarizer and the liquid crystal layer are laminated without using a transparent protective film. In a polarizing element 20 comprising a liquid crystal layer 4 in which the orientation of a liquid crystal compound is fixed on a polyvinyl alcohol film polarizer 1, the liquid crystal layer 4 contains a liquid crystal compound and a surfactant. 4 is formed with an organosilicon compound layer 14 obtained by using a silane coupling agent. The polarizer 1 and the organosilicon compound layer 14 on the surface of the liquid crystal layer 4 are first bonded. It is bonded through the agent layer 12. [Selection] Figure 1 |
