Disclosed is an electrode for electrolysis having a high oxygen generation potential and an oxidizing ability, and having excellent stability even when used at a high current density, and a method for producing the same. An electrode for electrolysis having a corrosion-resistant intermediate layer on the surface of a metal substrate and a catalyst layer on the surface of the corrosion-resistant intermediate layer, wherein the catalyst layer contains tin oxide, antimony oxide and platinum. . Since the electrode for electrolysis of the present invention has a high oxygen generation potential and oxidation ability and is excellent in stability, it can be suitably used as a corrosion-resistant conductive coating material.
