Electrolysis electrode for reducing chemical oxygen demand (COD) by decomposing organic matter in waste water by electrochemical reaction, for electrolysis for generating ozone and oxygen by electrolyzing water To provide a tin dioxide electrode capable of exhibiting the same performance as a lead dioxide electrode as an electrode for electrolysis used for production of electrodes and perchlorates. In an electrode for electrolysis comprising an electrode surface layer formed by solid solution of tin oxide and antimony oxide on the surface of a metal substrate, at least a platinum group is interposed between the metal substrate and the electrode surface layer.
