abstract A balance pad for balancing a pneumatic tire having a DVA inner liner and a method for balancing such a pneumatic tire are disclosed. A balance pad (34) for balancing a pneumatic tire (10) having a DVA inner liner (24) is provided. The balance pad includes an outer layer 32 having a dynamic vulcanization alloy that includes an engineering resin as a continuous phase and at least a partially vulcanized rubber as a dispersed phase. The balance pad further includes an inner layer 36 having a rubber or plastic compound bonded to the outer layer. The outer layer can be bonded to the inner surface of a tire inner liner that includes a dynamic vulcanized alloy having an engineering resin as a continuous phase and at least a partially vulcanized rubber as a dispersed phase.
