titleOfInvention Cutting tools
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool having excellent wear resistance and fracture resistance. A cutting edge 4 at a crossing ridge line portion between a rake face 2 and a flank 3 is composed of a cBN sintered body 6 mainly containing cBN and containing at least one of Ti carbide, nitride or carbonitride. When a nose 5 is formed on the cutting edge 4 positioned between two adjacent flank surfaces 3 and the residual stress is measured by the 2D method in the vicinity of the nose 5 of the rake face 2, the rake is parallel to the rake face 2 and raked. The cBN residual stress cBN−σ 11 in the direction from the center of the surface 2 toward the nose 5 closest to the measurement point is 10 to 100 MPa (cBN−σ 11 = −10 to −100 MPa) in terms of compressive stress. In the direction perpendicular to the σ 11 direction and the residual stress cBN-σ 22 in the direction perpendicular to the σ 11 direction is a throw-away value of the residual stress cBN-σ 11 in the σ 11 direction (cBN-σ 22 > cBN-σ 11 ).
