abstract | In a thermoplastic elastomer composition in which a halogenated isoolefin paraalkylstyrene copolymer rubber is dispersed and filled in a polyamide resin, it is desired to maintain the fluidity of the polyamide resin while maintaining the fine dispersion and high filling rate of the rubber. And A process for producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a polyamide resin (A) as a continuous phase and a halogenated isoolefin paraalkylstyrene copolymer rubber (B) as a dispersed phase, the polyamide resin (A) 100 parts by mass and compound (C) capable of binding to the terminal amino group of the polyamide resin (over 0.01 parts by mass) and less than 3 parts by mass are reacted and kneaded at a temperature equal to or higher than the melting point of the polyamide resin (A) to modify the polyamide resin. Then, the modified polyamide resin and the rubber (B) are reacted and kneaded, and the rubber (B) is dynamically cross-linked. The obtained thermoplastic elastomer composition is suitably used for an inner liner of a pneumatic tire. [Selection figure] None |
