titleOfInvention | Nickel metal hydride storage battery and manufacturing method thereof |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel metal hydride storage battery having a high capacity and excellent cycle performance and having excellent high rate discharge characteristics. In addition, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a nickel-metal hydride storage battery that is rapidly activated and has high efficiency. In a nickel-metal hydride battery comprising a positive electrode having an active material powder mainly composed of nickel hydroxide having a high-order cobalt compound on its surface, and a negative electrode having an active material powder made of a hydrogen storage alloy. The active material powders are bonded together with a higher cobalt compound. In the method of manufacturing the nickel-metal hydride storage battery, overdischarge is performed at least once in the process of initial activation in which charging and discharging operations are repeatedly performed.
