abstract |
An adhesive comprising zinc particles and an aqueous alkaline electrolyte in the anode casing, a cathode in the cathode casing, an electrolyte permeable separator between the cathode and the anode, and an adhesive comprising crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol A zinc / air depolarized battery, preferably crosslinked with a boron-containing compound, wherein the adhesive is positioned between the separator and the cathode side to adhesively bond the separator to the cathode. The battery may be in the form of a button battery. The adhesive provides a strong adhesive bond between the separator (preferably made of microporous polypropylene) and the cathode. The adhesive promotes ionic conductivity at the interface between the separator and the electrode even when the ratio of zinc to electrolyte in the anode is large. |
