Oral tissue regeneration and repair |
abstract |
A method of treating an oral condition of a subject by transplanting the cultured tissue construct into the oral tissue. The cultured tissue construct includes cultured cells and endogenously produced extracellular matrix components and does not require exogenous matrix components or network supports or scaffold members. Some tissue constructs of the present invention include multiple cell layers of multiple types. The tissue constructs have morphological features and functions similar to the tissue from which the cells are derived and are easy to handle due to their strength. Preferred culture constructs of the present invention include cells derived from human tissue. |
