abstract |
An actuator that operates stably in air, is inexpensive, and has a large amount of displacement and generated stress. A solid polymer electrolyte containing an ionic liquid and a polymer component is used as a deforming substance, electrodes 12 and 13 that are not in contact with each other are in contact with each other, and an actuator 10 is driven by applying a potential difference between the electrodes. At least one of the electrodes was gas-activated with (total volume of mesopores having a pore diameter of 1 nm to 50 nm) / (total volume of micropores having a pore diameter of less than 1 nm) of 0.2 to 0.5.
