abstract | An object of the present invention is to improve the adhesion of a polyester film by coating and forming a film on the surface of a polyester film, improving the refractive index of the film, and improving the water dispersibility to prepare an aqueous dispersion. Provided is a polyester resin that can eliminate the need for preliminary dispersion in a toxic solvent such as THF. A polyester resin is obtained by copolymerizing a polyvalent carboxylic acid component and a polyol component. The polyvalent carboxylic acid component is composed of at least one of 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid and an ester-forming derivative thereof, 60 to 95 mol%, at least a dicarboxylic acid having a metal sulfonate group and an ester-forming derivative thereof. The component which consists of one is contained in 5-20 mol%. The polyol component contains a component composed of at least one of bis (4- (hydroxyethoxy) phenyl) fluorene and an ester-forming derivative thereof in the range of 5 to 40 mol%.
