Cellulose degradation product production method using ionic liquid |
abstract |
A cellulose treatment method for efficiently degrading cellulose solubilized with an ionic liquid with cellulase is provided. An ionic liquid in which cellulose in a cellulose-containing material is solubilized is prepared, and a predetermined amount of a poor solvent is added to the ionic liquid containing the solubilized cellulose in relation to the ionic liquid. The ionic liquid and the solvent are included so as to form a cellulase working environment in which cellulase can exhibit enzyme activity. Thereby, the environment in which cellulase can effectively act on cellulose can be imparted to cellulose after solubilization with an ionic liquid with a simple operation or with a smaller amount of cellulase used.
