Cellulose dissolves in ionic liquids without derivatization and regenerates in a range of structural forms without the use of harmful or volatile organic solvents. The solubility and solubility of cellulose can be controlled by the choice of ionic liquid components, with small cations, halides, and pseudohalogen anions that favor the solution. |
