Method for producing polyester polyol |
abstract |
The present invention provides a method for producing a high molecular weight polyester polyol in a high yield under mild conditions using an enzyme as a catalyst. A process for producing a polyester polyol, comprising reacting a hydroxycarboxylic acid or an ester thereof with a polyhydric alcohol in the presence of a cutinase derived from a yeast belonging to the genus Cryptococcus. The hydroxyl group in the hydroxycarboxylic acid or ester thereof is preferably a secondary hydroxyl group, and the number of carbon atoms in the site excluding the alcohol residue of the hydroxycarboxylic acid or ester thereof is preferably 15 or more.
