A method for producing a water-absorbing polylactic acid fiber structure, in which the polylactic acid fiber contained in the fiber structure has high fiber strength, and the water-absorbing property obtained by the production method A polylactic acid fiber structure and a fiber product using the water-absorbing polylactic acid fiber structure are provided. SOLUTION: (i) poly L-lactic acid (component A), (ii) poly D-lactic acid (component B) and (iii) 0.05 to 5 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total of components A and B A method for producing a water-absorbing polylactic acid fiber structure comprising a polylactic acid composition containing a specific metal phosphate (C component).
