abstract A nucleating agent for polylactic acid capable of promoting crystallization of polylactic acid and improving heat resistance and moldability, and a polylactic acid resin composition using the same. The following dihydrazide (II) is obtained by reacting nicotinic acid hydrazide and sebacic acid dichloride. When a small amount of this dihydrazide (II) is added to polylactic acid, it exhibits an excellent crystallization promoting action and an effect of raising the crystallization temperature. For this reason, the heat resistance and moldability of the polylactic acid resin can be improved. [Selection figure] None
