abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent for cytokine composed of crosslinked polymer particles, useful as an adsorbent for removing cytokine from a fluid containing physiological substances such as body fluids and / or cells. SOLUTION: Crosslinked polymer particles comprising vinyl alcohol units and nitrogen-containing polymerized units as constituents, wherein the nitrogen content with respect to the total weight of the particles by dry weight specified by elemental analysis is 7.0-30. An adsorbent for cytokine comprising 0.03% by weight of crosslinked polymer particles having a surface nitrogen concentration of 9.0 to 30.0 at% specified by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis on the particle surface.
