abstract |
The present invention provides cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid di (2-ethylhexyl) ester, a process for its production, and its use as a plasticizer in plastics. The active metal contains ruthenium applied on a support containing aluminum oxide alone, or contains ruthenium together with at least one metal of group 1 or group 7 of transition elements of the periodic table. In the production process by hydrogenating di (2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate by contacting a terephthalic acid ester with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of the catalyst to be used, a support having macropores is used. [Effect] Cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid di (2-ethylhexyl) ester is used as a plasticizer for producing plastics which are not toxicologically concerned. [Selection figure] None |
