abstract | A method for crosslinking a novel polymer is provided. A) introducing silane into a structure of a thermoplastic polymer to be crosslinked under substantially anhydrous conditions, wherein the silane is completely hydrolyzed at the time of hydrolysis of its hydrolyzable site; Producing a small amount of volatile organic compounds compared to the amount of volatile organic compounds produced by hydrolysis of silane having the same number of hydrolyzable alkoxy groups per mole, and b) A method of cross-linking a polymer comprising exposing the polymer to decomposition / condensation conditions and optionally cross-linking the polymer in the presence of a hydrolysis / condensation catalyst. The present invention also includes a crosslinked polymer obtained from the above-described crosslinking step, and a product produced using the crosslinked polymer. [Selection figure] None |
