The present invention is derived from (a) partitioning two or more primary compound sets into microcapsules such that a certain percentage of the microcapsules includes two or more compounds; and (b) from different sets. Forming a secondary compound within the microcapsule by a chemical reaction between the primary compounds, wherein one or both of steps (a) and (b) are under microfluidic control, preferably under electronic microfluidic control Describes methods for compound synthesis. The present invention further allows the identification of compounds that bind to or modulate the activity of the target of the biochemical system and are co-compartmented into microcapsules. |
