The SOFC cell consists of a metal support 1 terminated with a substantially pure electron-conducting oxide 1, an active anode layer 2 made of doped ceria, ScYSZ, a Ni-Fe alloy, a co-doped zirconia-based oxygen ion conductor. An electrolyte layer 3, an active cathode layer 5, and a transition layer 6 up to a single cathode current collector plate 7 of LSM, and a layer of a mixture of LSM and ferrite. By using a metal support instead of the Ni-YSZ anode support, the mechanical strength of the support is improved and the stability of the support redox reaction is improved. Porous ferritic stainless steel is terminated with a pure electron-conducting oxide, so it easily dissolves in the metal in the active anode, that is, ferritic stainless steel, resulting in a harmful phase change from ferrite to austenitic structure. The reactivity between the metal that may be connected and the support is suppressed. |
