abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulky medium-size book paper having a low density and extremely high whiteness, a good print finish, and high production efficiency. A bleached kraft pulp and a bleached thermomechanical pulp are contained, the composition weight ratio of the bleached kraft pulp and the bleached thermomechanical pulp is 60/40 to 90/10, and the total pulp freeness is 250 to 350 mlCSF. There is obtained a bulky medium-sized book paper containing a saturated fatty acid amide based bulking agent and having a density of 0.45 to 0.55 g / cm 3 and a whiteness of 77 to 83%.
