PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carbonyl compound in a simple and high yield in a method for producing a corresponding carbonyl compound by dehydrogenation of alcohol. SOLUTION: A hydrotalcite surface-immobilized metal particle catalyst obtained by immobilizing at least one metal selected from Cu, Ag, and Au as particles on a hydrotalcite surface, and dehydration of alcohol in the presence of the catalyst. And a method for producing a carbonyl compound by dehydrogenating alcohol in the presence of a metal particle-immobilized hydrotalcite in which metal is immobilized on the surface of the hydrotalcite as a particle. A process for producing a carbonyl compound, wherein the reaction is carried out in the absence of oxygen. [Selection figure] None |
