abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an application brush and an image forming apparatus in which an appropriate amount of lubricant is stably supplied over a long period of time, and the apparatus for applying the lubricant is compact and easy to arrange. An application brush 32 of the present invention includes a shaft 41, a base cloth 42 disposed on the surface of a shaft 41, and loop-shaped brush hairs 43 implanted in the base cloth 42. The bristle degree G defined by the following equation of the layer formed by the brush hairs 43 is in the range of 1000 ≦ G ≦ 10000.
