abstract Disclosed is a method for producing toluenediamine that avoids the above-mentioned drawbacks in the background art described in the specification. In a process for producing toluenediamine, comprising reacting dinitrotoluene and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst, the dinitrotoluene is physically less than 0.175 mol% based on the molar amount of dinitrotoluene. It is solved by a process for the production of toluenediamine having a carbon dioxide content in dissolved or chemically bound form. [Selection figure] None
