abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyramide by nitrile hydratase, which can complete a reaction in a short time and does not require a large amount of enzyme. A process for producing 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyramide, which comprises drying 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyronitrile under reduced pressure and then contacting the nitrile compound with nitrile hydratase.
