abstract In the present invention, carbon (16) is a single bond or a double bond, and carbon (23) is a single bond, a double bond or a triple bond, and the carbon (20) position is substituted with methyl or cyclopropyl. Provided is a (1,3) diacylated vitamin D 3 analog of cholecalciferol. Various alkyl or haloalkyl substituents are incorporated at the carbon (25) position. The present invention provides pharmaceutically acceptable esters, salts and prodrugs thereof, and further uses the compounds to treat conditions involving vitamin D 3 and the compounds.
