Apparatus and method for sterilizing surfaces |
abstract |
A device for disinfecting surfaces, in particular human and animal wounds, comprises a contactor (12) for accumulating high concentrations of ozonated water and means (34, 37) for sending ozonated water from a reservoir to a nozzle (3a). The nozzle (3a) has one or more injection holes for spraying ozonized water spray on the surface to be treated. The nozzle has a full circumference (40) and is provided with means (32) for collecting ozonated gas liberated at the nozzle from the circumference of the nozzle. A collection tray (43) placed under the surface / wound to be treated is provided to receive ozonated water flowing from the treatment area and decompose any residual ozone present. |
